Congratulations, you have secured a government grant.  Now the real work begins.

LNE Group offers streamlined grant management and administration services that reduce the administrative burden by simplifying funding agency monitoring and reporting requirements. This enables clients to focus on program delivery to achieve project goals and objectives.  Federal agencies administer grants differently, with varying business processes and policies, which can create undue burden for grantees.  Agencies monitor grantees to ensure proper use of funds, both in terms of programmatic operations and financial controls.  Monitoring involves formal reporting, informal discussions, formal presentations and site visits.

Grant Management & Administration Services include:

Grant Agreement Negotiations
LNE Group assists clients with grant agreement negotiations with federal and state funding agencies.  We have found that a thoughtfully negotiated grant agreement can reduce the administrative work for the client long term.  A key issue for many clients in connection with grant agreements is intellectual property (“IP”) protection.  While most government agencies will provide the IP protection that companies desire, it is something that must be agreed in the grant agreement.LNE Group assures that this and other key issues are negotiated and agreed in the final grant document.

Representation
LNE Group helps clients prepare for preliminary site visits and periodic site visits required by most funding agencies.  Because agency officials make hundreds of visits each year, LNE Group has found that a well-organized, thorough and comprehensive site visit can position a company well long-term with agency officials and contribute to the overall success of the project.

Grant Payment
Most government grants are made on a reimbursement basis. For this reason, it is important to maximize allowable costs.  LNE Group helps companies understand what project costs are allowable and therefore can be reimbursed by grant funds.  LNE Group also ensures that reimbursement requests are timely filed.

Scope Changes
Many projects require scope changes for technical or other reasons.  When a scope change is required, LNE Group works with the client to revise project plans and secure agency permission for the change.  Agencies will defer to company scope change requests where they are reasonable and do not change the overall goal of the project.  LNE Group helps clients frame their proposed scope changes this way.

Audit Preparation
All government-funded projects have an audit component.  Although LNE Group does not have auditors on staff, our professional team works with company auditors to ensure that project documents comport with grant agreement requirements.

Management, Technical & Financial Reporting
In addition to audits, all government-funded projects require periodic reports.  LNE Group works with clients to develop a system to collect and manage project information (day-to-day activities, work plan task status, outcomes and milestones achieved) to prepare the necessary reports for programmatic and fiscal compliance.
